Disney’s Hollywood Studios is adding a little extra character to even the most practical corners of the park, with new solar-powered trash and recycling cans now sporting Mickey Mouse’s iconic Sorcerer Hat in Animation Courtyard.

The new cans were spotted near The Magic of Disney Animation and feature a dark blue design accented with beige and red details, topped off with artwork inspired by Sorcerer Mickey. Guests can use a metal foot bar at the base to open the separate trash and recycling compartments without having to touch the lids. Similar solar-powered cans have been appearing in other areas around Walt Disney World, but these fit especially well with the animation theme taking shape at Hollywood Studios.
The timing is also fitting as Disney continues preparing The Magic of Disney Animation for its September 14 opening. Cast member previews are currently underway, and guests in the area have already been spotted carrying drawings from the new Olaf Draws experience. The attraction will also feature experiences including Off the Page, Drawn to Wonderland, and the Disney Once Upon a Studio Theater.

It may only be a trash can, but adding details like the Sorcerer Hat helps keep even the everyday park equipment tied into the story of the surrounding area.
