Universal Studios Florida Entrance Scrim Confirms New Archway Color Scheme as Refurbishment Drags On
The entrance to Universal Studios Florida is giving us our clearest look yet at what the park’s main archway will look like once its ongoing refurbishment is finally complete. With Halloween Horror Nights 35 now underway, the structure has been covered in themed construction scrim, but the color of that covering appears to confirm the direction Universal is taking with the finished entrance.

The white scrim closely matches the color already used on the surrounding entrance buildings, ticket booths, and exit area, which have all been repainted from their former pink tones to a cleaner white-and-brown color scheme. That makes the temporary covering a pretty strong preview of what guests can expect once the archway itself is finished. The scrim also features a recreated gold Universal Studios Florida logo and a printed Halloween Horror Nights 35 medallion in place of the large physical HHN medallion that normally hangs above the entrance.
What is especially noticeable, though, is how slowly work has progressed on this final section of the entrance. The repainting project has been moving forward for months, while the main archway has remained under construction much longer than expected. That slow pace suggests Universal may have run into complications while completing the work, though the company has not publicly detailed any issues.
Current rumors now point to the refurbishment extending into October, despite the work originally being expected to wrap up in time for the opening of Halloween Horror Nights. For now, guests can still enter through the main archway, although the walkway remains narrower due to the construction setup. The themed scrim at least keeps the front gate looking presentable during HHN 35 while also giving us a pretty good preview of the finished color scheme.
