New Construction Permit Filed for Disney Skyliner Station at Hollywood Studios
Some work may be on the horizon for the Disney Skyliner station at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. A new construction permit was filed on August 28, 2026, covering work at the Skyliner station located just outside the park.

The permit lists Buena Vista Construction Company and calls for labor, materials, and electrical work related to construction at 785 Studio Drive, the address associated with the Hollywood Studios Skyliner station. The permit is valid for one year, although the filing does not reveal exactly what Disney has planned for the station.
The timing is interesting, as the Disney Skyliner is already scheduled to temporarily close for its annual refurbishment from January 24 through January 30, 2027. It is possible the newly filed permit could be connected to work planned during that closure, though it could also cover a separate project taking place before then. Disney regularly schedules maintenance for the Skyliner system during January, and complimentary bus transportation is expected to be available while the gondolas are not operating.

The Disney Skyliner has been carrying guests around Walt Disney World since 2019, connecting Disney’s Hollywood Studios and EPCOT with Disney’s Riviera Resort, Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, Disney’s Pop Century Resort, and Disney’s Art of Animation Resort. With more than 250 gondola cabins gliding above the resort, even a small amount of construction at one of its stations is worth keeping an eye on.
Disney has not announced any major changes for the Hollywood Studios station, so for now this permit gives us another little breadcrumb to follow as we head toward the 2027 refurbishment.
