Frontierland Transformation Continues as Westward Ho Faces Demolition for Piston Peak

Westward Ho Now Behind Construction Walls as Frontierland Changes Continue at Magic Kingdom

More changes are rolling into Frontierland at Magic Kingdom as work continues ahead of the future Piston Peak National Park area. The former Westward Ho location is now completely surrounded by construction walls following its permanent closure, marking another visible step in the transformation of this section of the park.

Westward Ho is expected to eventually be demolished as Disney reshapes the area for Piston Peak National Park. Construction walls are also beginning to take over nearby spaces, including the area that previously housed the Frontierland popcorn stands. Disney is expected to eventually push the work zone farther toward the riverwalk, with a temporary pedestrian pathway planned along the promenade to help keep guests moving and provide space for parade viewing during the lengthy construction process.

For now, guests can still access the Frontierland boardwalk, but they may have to hunt a little harder for their favorite snacks. The churro cart has been relocated near Frontier Trading Post, while two popcorn carts have moved to new locations. One can now be found near the Disney Vacation Club kiosk, with another positioned near Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe.

Frontierland is going to look very different over the next few years as construction continues and Piston Peak National Park begins taking shape.
