Alicia Silverstone Returning for New ‘Clueless’ Series at Paramount+

Get ready to break out the yellow plaid and roll with the homies once again!

Paramount+ has officially given a six-episode limited series order to a ‘Clueless’ sequel series, with Alicia Silverstone returning to executive produce and reprise her iconic role as Beverly Hills “it” girl Cher Horowitz.

After being dropped by Peacock earlier this year, the highly anticipated project has officially “come home” to Paramount—the original studio behind the classic 1995 film.

Picking up 30 years after the events of the original movie, the series flips the script on Cher’s usually organized and fabulous life. According to the official logline:

“Beloved Beverly Hills icon Cher Horowitz has figured out a lot: She’s successful in business and has mastered motherhood—that is, until her daughter’s high school years, and Cher finds that parenting a teenager makes her feel ‘clueless’ all over again.”

The new series is packed with powerhouse creative talent who know teen comedy and drama inside and out:

• Josh Schwartz & Stephanie Savage (The O.C., Gossip Girl) are writing and executive producing under their Fake Empire banner.
• Jordan Weiss (Freakier Friday, Dollface) joins as writer and executive producer.
• Amy Heckerling, writer and director of the original 1995 film, is returning as an executive producer alongside original producer Robert Lawrence.

Series Fast Facts

Production is set to kick off in Los Angeles in 2027. While there’s no official word yet on whether former co-stars like Paul Rudd, Stacey Dash, or Donald Faison will make appearances, fans are already buggin’ over Cher’s return to the screen!
