The Book of the Dead has officially been opened once again. Inspired by New Line Cinema’s upcoming film, the haunted house will transport guests to the Price family’s isolated vacation home deep in the woods, where an ancient evil has already taken hold. As visitors make their way through the house, they’ll come face-to-face with terrifying Deadites and experience some of the film’s most horrifying moments before ultimately becoming victims of the supernatural forces themselves. Since the franchise debuted in 1981, Evil Dead has become one of horror’s most beloved series, combining over-the-top gore, dark comedy, and the terrifying power of the infamous Book of the Dead.

The timing of this announcement is particularly interesting for Halloween Horror Nights fans. Over the weekend, an apparent leak pointing to an Ozzy Osbourne-themed haunted house spread across social media, leading many to believe that announcement would arrive next. Instead, Universal surprised fans by revealing Evil Dead Burn, bringing the confirmed haunted house lineup to nine. With only one house remaining, speculation continues to grow that the rumored Ozzy Osbourne experience will ultimately round out the 10-house lineup for Halloween Horror Nights 35.
