New Construction Permit Filed for EPCOT Entrance Toll Plaza
More work could soon be underway at EPCOT, as Walt Disney World has filed a new construction permit for the park’s entrance toll plaza, hinting that additional improvements may be on the way for guests arriving by car.

The newly filed permit, which is valid through June 29, 2027, lists Gulfcoast Utility Constructors as the contractor. According to the company’s website, it specializes in underground utility work, including wet and dry utility installation, fire protection systems, site and civil work, maintenance, and utility repairs. While the permit doesn’t reveal exactly what will be changing, the contractor’s expertise suggests the work may involve infrastructure rather than visible cosmetic updates.
The filing comes after several recent changes to the EPCOT entrance area. Earlier this year, Disney restored the iconic “Welcome” sign at the toll plaza following previous construction work. More recently, new road dividers were installed at the parking entrance to help improve traffic flow. It’s currently unclear whether this latest permit is connected to those ongoing enhancements or if it signals an entirely new phase of work.
