In a recent video shared on Instagram, Dr. Mark Penning announced that his longtime social media platform will officially transition to @AnimalsAtDisney following his retirement from The Walt Disney Company.

Over the years, the account has established itself as a highly popular destination for updates on animal births, global conservation efforts, advanced veterinary care, and exclusive behind-the-scenes stories from across the Walt Disney World Resort and beyond. Penning consistently utilized his platform to showcase the incredible dedication of Disney’s animal care teams while sharing engaging photos and videos of the thousands of unique animals under Disney’s stewardship.

While the account’s name is changing, Disney indicated that the core focus of the page will remain the same. Future posts will continue to spotlight Disney’s animals, animal care experts, conservation initiatives, and environmental stewardship efforts.

The transition follows Penning’s retirement from Disney earlier this year. It was recently announced that he would be stepping into a new role as the director of the North Carolina Zoo.
