We finally know the official storyline driving our upcoming journey into Monstropolis! Ever since little Boo helped the monsters discover that laugh power is exponentially more efficient than scream power—and that humans aren’t toxic after all—the city has undergone a major transformation. This breakthrough led to the creation of the Department of Human Relations, a special agency dedicated to safely bringing humans and monsters together for the very first time.
To celebrate this historic blending of two worlds, the Department of Human Relations is officially introducing H.U.M.A.N. Day—which stands for “Humans Understand Monsters Are Nice.”
Part festive celebration and part cultural exchange, this grand event is designed to give humans an immersive look at daily life inside Monstropolis, while simultaneously proving to the local monsters that humans aren’t so frightening after all. Along with these narrative details, Walt Disney Imagineering shared incredible, rare footage of the actual construction site, showcasing the massive scale of the land as it begins to take shape.

The sneak peek even offered a quick glimpse at the jaw-dropping structure that will serve as the main Monsters, Inc.headquarters! This massive building is set to house the first-ever suspended roller coaster in Walt Disney World history, designed to send guests flying straight through the iconic, mechanized door vault just like in the movie. The sheer scale of the show building is absolutely massive, dominating the construction site.
The impressive coaster building is just one piece of the puzzle. Fans are eagerly awaiting more updates on the rest of the highly anticipated land, which will also feature immersive dining and entertainment options, including the famous sushi hotspot Harryhausen’s and the legendary Glob Theatre.
