Disney Teams Up With AccuWeather for New Disney Weather Check App Experience
Planning around Florida weather at Disney parks may have just gotten a whole lot easier. Disney Experiences and AccuWeather have announced a brand-new global partnership that brings customized weather forecasting and alerts directly to guests visiting Disney destinations around the world through a new system called Disney Weather Check, powered by AccuWeather.

The new collaboration creates what the companies describe as a first-of-its-kind weather forecasting and alert system specifically designed for Disney Experiences. Guests visiting Walt Disney World Resort, Disneyland Resort, Aulani, Disney’s Vero Beach Resort, and Disney’s Hilton Head Island Resort can now access customized weather updates and alerts through the AccuWeather mobile app.
Using geo-fenced technology within Disney properties, the app activates enhanced Disney Weather Check features once guests are on-site. That means visitors can receive location-specific weather alerts, forecasts, and advisories tailored directly to the parks and resorts they are visiting.
For Disney World guests especially, this could become a valuable planning tool during Central Florida’s famously unpredictable weather season, where a sunny morning can suddenly turn into a full afternoon thunderstorm worthy of a Fantasmic finale.
Among the new features included in the Disney Weather Check experience are custom hourly forecasts for Disney destinations, real-time weather updates, AccuWeather’s MinuteCast precipitation forecasting, and the company’s RealFeel Temperature system, which factors in 14 different weather variables beyond just the temperature.

The app is also designed to align guest-facing alerts with the same operational weather intelligence Disney teams use internally for safety advisories and procedures.
AccuWeather CEO Steven R. Smith said the partnership is focused on helping guests “plan their day efficiently” while also giving them peace of mind that weather conditions are continuously being monitored throughout their visit.
Disney Worldwide Safety Assurance Chief Safety Officer Greg Hale added that the partnership helps Disney continue its commitment to delivering the best possible guest experience through more accurate and actionable weather insights.
