To Infinity and Battle Royale: Buzz Lightyear and Emperor Zurg Blast Into Fortnite
There’s a new space ranger in town… and he brought his nemesis along for the ride. Disney and Epic Games have officially launched Buzz Lightyear and Emperor Zurg into Fortnite, bringing the iconic Toy Story rivalry straight into the battle royale arena. Whether you are falling with style or plotting galactic domination, players can now suit up as both hero and villain through the in-game Item Shop.

The new additions arrive with all the bells, whistles, and laser blasts you would expect. Buzz Lightyear is available as an individual outfit for 1,600 V-Bucks and includes his signature Lightyear Wings glider, perfect for making a dramatic entrance onto the island. Meanwhile, Emperor Zurg comes in at 1,500 V-Bucks and includes his intimidating Zurg Blaster Pack back bling. If you are feeling a little more balanced between good and evil, both characters are also bundled together for 3,400 V-Bucks, giving players the full Toy Story showdown in one purchase.
This drop builds on Fortnite’s growing Toy Story presence, which already includes Little Green Men alien sidekicks and a Pizza Planet-themed vehicle. The timing also feels very intentional, with Toy Story 5 set to hit theaters on June 19, suggesting this crossover is just the beginning. Rumors are already swirling that Woody could be next to join the roster, which would complete the iconic trio and give fans even more ways to play.

The Buzz and Zurg debut is another example of Disney and Epic Games leveling up their partnership, which has continued to expand since Disney’s major investment in Epic back in 2024. With more Disney characters, worlds, and experiences steadily making their way into Fortnite, the game is starting to feel like its own kind of digital theme park where franchises collide in the most unexpected ways.
