Disneyland Adjusts August Park Hours for the 36th Annual CHOC Walk

Disney has set the date for the 36th annual CHOC Walk in the Park, a fundraising tradition that sees thousands of walkers trek through Disneyland Resort. On Sunday, August 2, 2026, both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure are expected to delay their standard opening times to the public to accommodate the event, so be sure to check the official calendar if you’re planning to be in the parks that morning!

The 36th annual CHOC Walk in the Park is officially scheduled for the morning of Sunday, August 2, 2026. While Disney has yet to finalize the operating calendar for that weekend, guests should prepare for a slightly later start, as the parks typically shift to an 8:30 a.m. opening to accommodate the event.

This heart-pumping fundraiser takes participants on a scenic three-mile journey through the magic of both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure. To join the mission, walkers ages 3 and up must pay a $10 registration fee and meet a minimum fundraising goal of $125 prior to the event (little ones 2 and under can participate for free). As an added incentive, those who go above and beyond by raising $400 or more will be rewarded with a Disneyland Resort Park Hopper ticket to enjoy the parks after the walk concludes on August 2.

The event supports Rady Children’s Health Orange County, a nonprofit healthcare system providing world-class, compassionate care for patients from infancy through young adulthood. This partnership is deeply rooted in Disney history; Walt Disney himself served on the hospital’s founding board and was instrumental in securing the funding needed for its 1964 opening. Even the hospital’s iconic mascot, Choco the bear, has a magical touch—he was originally designed by Disney Legend and animator Bob Moore.
