The First Trailer for the ‘Malcolm in the Middle’ Revival Has Arrived
The wait is finally over. After years of rumors and cast reunions on social media, the official trailer for “Malcolm in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair” was revealed today, proving that while the boys may be grown, the chaos is just as loud as ever.
The limited series event is set to premiere all four episodes on April 10, 2026, streaming on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+ for bundle subscribers in the U.S., and on Disney+ internationally.

The Story: A Reluctant Family Reunion
The revival finds Malcolm (Frankie Muniz) having spent the last decade doing exactly what you’d expect: shielding himself and his young daughter from the whirlwind of his childhood home. However, his self-imposed exile comes to a screeching halt when Hal and Lois demand his presence at their 40th anniversary party.
Judging by the trailer, the “anniversary” is less about a quiet dinner and more about the same brand of high-decibel family drama that defined the original series.

The Cast: Old Faces and New Siblings
The core ensemble is back, led by Bryan Cranston as Hal and Jane Kaczmarek as Lois. They are joined by the returning “boys”:
- Frankie Muniz as Malcolm
- Christopher Kennedy Masterson as Francis
- Justin Berfield as Reese
- Emy Coligado as Piama
The revival also introduces new blood to the family dynamic. Keeley Karsten joins as Leah, Malcolm’s daughter, while Vaughan Murrae portrays Kelly, Malcolm’s youngest sibling (born after the series finale). Kiana Madeira joins as Malcolm’s girlfriend, Tristan, and Caleb Ellsworth-Clark takes on the role of Dewey.
Behind the Scenes
Fans can rest easy knowing the creative soul of the show remains intact. Original series creator Linwood Boomer returns as writer and executive producer. Ken Kwapis, who directed the pilot and many of the series’ most iconic episodes, will direct all four parts of the limited series.
Bryan Cranston also serves as an executive producer, a role he has championed for years while working to get the revival off the ground.
