LEGO SMART Play x Star Wars Sets Have Officially Landed
The LEGO building experience has officially leaped into hyperspace. After months of anticipation following a spectacular debut at CES and the Nuremberg Toy Fair, the LEGO SMART Play platform is finally here. As of March 1, 2026, Star Wars fans can bring their brick-built creations to life in a way that hasn’t been possible since the minifigure was first introduced in 1978.
Powered by the revolutionary LEGO SMART Brick, these sets don’t just sit on a shelf—they respond to how you play.

The Technology Behind the Magic
At the core of this innovation is a custom-made chip smaller than a standard LEGO stud. This technology allows the “All-In-One” and “Compatible” sets to react in real-time using three main elements:
- LEGO SMART Brick: The brain of the build that brings interactive responses.
- LEGO SMART Tags: Triggers that unlock specific sounds and actions.
- LEGO SMART Minifigures: Iconic characters like Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker that now feature authentic lightsaber hums and dialogue.

Now Available: The First Wave of Sets
Whether you want to pilot the most famous hunk of junk in the galaxy or recreate a dramatic lightsaber duel, the launch lineup has something for every era of the Star Wars saga.

All-In-One Sets (Includes SMART Brick & Charger):
- Luke’s Red Five X-Wing: Hear the roar of the engines as you take flight.
- Darth Vader’s TIE Fighter: Feel the power of the Dark Side with reactive sound effects.
- Throne Room Duel & A-Wing: Features “The Imperial March” theme music when Emperor Palpatine takes his seat.

Expansion & Compatible Sets:
- Millennium Falcon
- Mos Eisley Cantina
- AT-ST Attack on Endor
- Yoda’s Hut and Jedi Training
- Luke’s Landspeeder

From the Las Vegas Sphere to Your Living Room
The launch journey for SMART Play has been nothing short of cinematic. In January, the LEGO Group transformed the Las Vegas Sphere into a 366-foot-tall Death Star. New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart even joined the mission, “blowing up” the orbital station via an interactive X-wing cockpit game.

Now, that same level of immersion is available at home. You can find these sets at LEGO.com, LEGO Stores, DisneyStore.com, and select retailers.
Experience it in Person
If you want to see the technology in action before you buy, select Target stores across the U.S. are hosting an immersive LEGO Star Wars SMART Play experience from March 1 through May 5.
The Force has never been more tangible in the world of LEGO. Which side of the galaxy will you build first?
