Harrison Ford to Receive SAG-AFTRA’s Highest Honor
Legendary actor Harrison Ford has been named the recipient of the SAG-AFTRA Life Achievement Award. As the highest honor bestowed by the Screen Actors Guild – American Federation of Television and Radio Artists, the accolade is presented annually to a performer who exemplifies the ‘finest ideals of the acting profession’ through their career and humanitarian efforts.

The prestigious honor recognizes Ford’s storied six-decade career as a titan of the film industry. The tribute will be a centerpiece of the 32nd Annual Actor Awards (the new official name for the ceremony formerly known as the SAG Awards). Fans can watch the celebration live as it streams globally on Netflix on Sunday, March 1, 2026.
Ford said the following about the award:
“I am deeply honored to be chosen as this year’s recipient of the SAG-AFTRA Life Achievement Award. To be acknowledged by my fellow actors means a great deal to me. I’ve spent most of my life on film sets, working alongside incredible actors and crews, and I’ve always felt grateful to be part of this community.”
By accepting this honor, Ford enters the ranks of Hollywood royalty. He joins a legendary list of past recipients that includes icons such as Mary Tyler Moore, Sidney Poitier, and Elizabeth Taylor, as well as beloved trailblazers like Betty White, James Earl Jones, Jane Fonda, and Robert De Niro.
SAG-AFTRA President Sean Astin said:
“Harrison Ford is a singular presence in American life; an actor whose iconic characters have shaped world culture. His career has been endlessly exciting, always returning to his love of acting. We are honored to celebrate a legend whose impact on our craft is indelible.”
As noted by Variety, this latest honor is just the newest addition to Ford’s legendary trophy room. He has previously been celebrated with the Critics Choice Career Achievement Award (2024), the Golden Globes’ Cecil B. DeMille Award (2002), and the AFI Life Achievement Award (2000). Proving he’s as relevant as ever, he also earned an Emmy nomination just last year for his standout performance in Apple TV’s hit series, Shrinking.
