The official closure date for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is confirmed by the Disneyland website’s Hours & Events Calendar, which currently shows the attraction closed beginning January 20, 2026. At this time, however, the duration of the refurbishment and the extent of any updates or changes remain unknown.

Since opening at Disney’s Hollywood Studios (December 2019) and Disneyland (January 2020), Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance has battled a persistent technical issue: the three laser cannons in the battle scene, designed to move as the ride vehicles dodge them. Due to the significant operational downtime caused by their dysfunction, this effect was disabled on both coasts for years. Fortunately, Disneyland finally restored its moving cannons during the January 2025 refurbishment, though the effect remains non-operational at Walt Disney World.
