Walt Disney World Achieves Record-Breaking Q3, Defying New Competition
The Walt Disney World Resort announced a record-breaking third quarter for the fiscal year 2025, a landmark achievement confirmed during the company’s earnings call on Wednesday morning. The quarter, which ran from March 30 to June 28, 2025, saw Disney’s domestic parks segment report a substantial 22% increase in operating income, reaching $1.7 billion.

This impressive growth occurred despite the highly anticipated opening of Universal’s Epic Universe just a few miles away in Orlando. The strong performance appears to validate a previous statement by Disney Experiences Chairman Josh D’Amaro, who predicted, “If something is built new in central Florida, like Epic Universe, that tourist is going to have to visit the Magic Kingdom.”

The positive trend extended across the entire Disney Experiences segment, which posted an overall income of $2.5 billion—an increase of $294 million compared to the third quarter of the previous fiscal year.
According to the company, the record-setting quarter for Walt Disney World was driven primarily by continued growth at its domestic parks and resorts, as well as a notable increase in guest spending.
