Mr. Iger has been personally overseeing Disney’s relief efforts from a hotel, demonstrating strong leadership during this challenging time. The company has pledged $15 million to support community services and rebuilding efforts. To assist displaced employees, Disney is providing two months of free furnished housing and has opened its studio wardrobe warehouses to provide essential clothing and footwear. Mr. Iger has also been making personal calls to employees who have lost their homes, offering support and assistance.
“I want them to know that people at the top of the company are looking after them, that we care,” Mr. Iger said. “We’re going to go through some really tough times here, but we’ll get through it together.”
Remarkably, Disney’s film production has remained largely unaffected by the California wildfires, unlike many other sectors of Hollywood. While the Burbank lot experienced some minor ashfall, it escaped the flames.
