Last Operation Date for Red Car Trolley at Disney California Adventure Announced
A beloved classic is coming to an end. Disneyland Resort has announced the closure date for the nostalgic Red Car Trolley at Disney California Adventure.

The Disneyland website says the following:
“In 2025, construction will begin on the expansion of Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure. To make way for new experiences, the last date for guests to ride Red Car Trolley will be Feb. 8, 2025.”
Unfortunately, the Red Car Trolley will be permanently retired. The construction project will require the removal of the backstage trolley barn, making it impossible to continue operating the beloved attraction.
The nostalgic Red Car Trolley was added to Disney California Adventure in 2012 as part of a $1 billion reimagining of the park that also included Buena Vista Street.
Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure opened in 2021 to a mixed reception. While fans praised the character interactions and immersive experiences, many criticized the lack of attractions, seating, and intricate details.
Despite these initial criticisms, the land is set to expand in 2025 with the addition of Stark Flight Lab and an expansion of Avengers: Infinity Defense. However, recent reductions in entertainment offerings, including the closure of “Dr. Strange: Mysteries of the Mystic Arts” and changes to other shows, have raised questions about the park’s future direction.
