Last night, we had the chance to experience the magic of Universal’s 2024 Holiday Tour, and let’s just say, it was a who-lotta fun! Priced from $99.99 + tax (for ages 3 and up), this VIP adventure immerses you in the spirit of the season with exclusive perks and unforgettable holiday moments. If you’re looking to add a little extra sparkle to your Universal holiday visit, this tour might just be the perfect gift to yourself.

We started the night off experiencing the Green & Red Coconut Club in CityWalk, which is an impressive holiday overlay of the Red Coconut Club. While this is a nighlift spot, be sure to stop even if you have kids in tow! It’s an all-age venue, and the holiday decorations and theming are immersive and incredibly well done.
After our stop in the club and check-in we moved onto an exclusive meet and greet with none other than The Grinch and Max, immediately following a reserved-seating viewing of the wildly popular Grinchmas Who-liday Spectacular. The reserved seats are a major perk, ensuring a stress-free experience without the long wait typical for this show. The meet and greet was a highlight—not only because The Grinch is always hilarious, but also because this is the only place you can meet Max! And let’s face it, who wouldn’t want a photo with the most festive pup in Whoville?
Guests are also treated to light bites and desserts during the tour. While the treats are a nice addition and add to the festive atmosphere, don’t arrive expecting a full meal. It’s more about enjoying a quick snack and a warm holiday vibe.
The tour also includes a photo op with Santa Claus, priority access to Illumination’s Villain-Con Minion Blast, and an after-hours viewing of The Magic of Christmas at Hogwarts™ Castle.
The castle show is a truly magical way to end the evening, as the lights and music bring the Wizarding World to life in a way that feels extra special after hours. The after-hours viewing also allows you to take in the magic of Hogsmeade Village without crowds!
While the tour doesn’t include a reserved viewing of Universal’s Holiday Parade Featuring Macy’s, we didn’t feel like we missed out. The combination of exclusive experiences, reserved seating, and minimal wait times makes this VIP package a festive and stress-free way to enjoy Universal’s holiday offerings.
A Few Things to Note:
- The Grinch and Max meet and greet is a standout highlight, not just because of the minimal wait but also for its exclusivity. Skip the typical 3+ hour standby line and enjoy this intimate and unique experience.
- While the light bites are tasty, they’re not a meal. Plan to grab dinner before or after your tour.
- There have been some reports online of shortages of bites and desserts for guests on later tours, so keep that in mind when planning your evening.

Overall, the 2024 Universal Holiday Tour offers excellent value for fans of the park’s seasonal celebrations. While we were hosted by Universal for this event, we would gladly pay the fee to take the tour again. The convenience of VIP seating, exclusive access, and the magical after-hours castle show make this a must-do for anyone looking to create a holly jolly Universal experience!
