Disney have started principal photography for their adaptation of “John of Carter of Mars†in London. “John Carter of Mars†is based on the Barsoom Series by Edgar Rice Borroughs’.
The movie follows Civil War veteran John Carter, who will be portrayed by Taylor Kitsch, as he battles a devastating war against a strange Martian race, on a war-wounded Mars, while landing in the conflict between the Red and Green Martians, where he falls in love with the Red Martian princess.
“John Carter of Mars†will be directed by Andrew Stanton who has previously worked for Pixar on “Finding Nemo†and “WALL-Eâ€. Stanton co-wrote the screenplay with Michael Chabon. Alongside Kitsch you will also see Mark Strong, Willem Dafoe, Dominic West and other Hollywood stars.
“John Carter of Marsâ€, which is due for release in 2012.
