Prices have been adjusted at the Cake Bake Shop
The Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers at Disney’s BoardWalk has made waves even before its doors officially open. In response to significant online criticism regarding its initial pricing, the highly anticipated restaurant and bakery has now lowered many of its prices.

When construction walls came down in early October, Disney fans were shocked by the steep prices revealed on the initial menu. Items such as a $23 egg sandwich, $26 cake slices, and a $32 burger with pommes frites stirred an online outcry. Even a slice of toast was priced at $4. Comparisons to other Cake Bake Shop locations in Indiana—where similar items were priced lower—only added fuel to the fire. For instance, the Pesto Burrata dish was priced at $34 at Disney’s BoardWalk but only $28 at the shop’s Carmel and Broad Ripple locations.
Responding to this feedback, The Cake Bake Shop has since made adjustments to its pricing. The updated menus posted outside the venue reflect (mostly) lower prices. The Pesto Burrata is now listed at $28.99, closer to its Indiana counterpart. Other changes include the Classic Eggs Benedict, which was originally priced at $34 and is now a more palatable $19.99, and the Egg Sandwich, which dropped from $23 to $19.99. Even breakfast staples like Challah Orange French Toast and Gluten-Free Pixie Fetti Pancakes saw significant reductions, now priced at $18.99 and $16.99, respectively.
However, not all prices were reduced. Some items, such as the Pixie Fetti Birthday Cake, Pumpkin Spice Cinnamon Roll Cake, and Pumpkin Chocolate Cake, saw minor price increases, rising from $22 to $22.99. Even featured cocktails experienced a mix of price adjustments—while the Mimosa dropped from $23 to $18.99, the Bloody Mary actually saw a slight increase, now priced at $19.99.

With two other locations in Indiana, The Cake Bake Shop has established itself as a go-to spot for elegant dining and whimsical desserts. Its new location at Disney’s BoardWalk is expected to be just as enchanting, offering a full menu of breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner options alongside its signature cakes and pastries. The adjustments to pricing are likely to soften the initial sticker shock, ensuring that The Cake Bake Shop appeals to both locals and tourists looking to indulge in a magical dining experience.
