In the aftermath of Hurricane Milton, which caused severe damage to Tropicana Field, the Tampa Bay Rays are searching for a temporary home for the 2025 season. One intriguing possibility that is being considered is Disney’s ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World, where the Rays have played before, including spring training games according to reporting by the Tampa Bay Times.
With the roof at Tropicana Field shredded and other parts of the stadium compromised, the Rays are considering various locations for next season. The ESPN complex, located just outside Orlando, is emerging as a strong option. Though it would require coordination with Disney’s existing event schedule, the facility offers familiarity for the team and could require fewer upgrades compared to other venues.
