Disney World and Universal Orlando Release Statements on Tropical Storm Helene
Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando have both released statements regarding the impending arrival of Tropical Storm Helene, which has triggered a Tropical Storm Warning for Orange and Osceola counties.
Walt Disney World Resort has assured guests that it is currently operating under normal conditions, but is keeping a close watch on the storm’s path and prioritizing the safety of its guests and cast members.

Universal Orlando echoed similar sentiments, stating that park operations and hours remain unchanged for now, but they are actively monitoring the weather situation and will provide updates as needed.
Both resorts are located in the greater Orlando area, which is expected to experience hazardous conditions due to the storm. Guests planning to visit the parks in the coming days are advised to stay informed about the latest weather updates and be prepared for potential changes to park operations.
Tropical Storm conditions are anticipated to reach the Walt Disney World area as soon as Thursday, bringing with them the potential for strong wind gusts of up to 60 mph and significant rainfall ranging from 1 to 4 inches, with some areas potentially experiencing up to 6 inches. This could result in flooding in areas prone to water accumulation.
Disney is actively monitoring the storm’s development and advises guests to be prepared for possible changes in park operations. This may include cancellations of outdoor events and temporary closures of certain attractions.
Furthermore, the National Weather Service has issued a warning about the potential for isolated tornadoes within the rain bands, starting as early as Wednesday night. Guests are encouraged to stay updated on the latest weather information and follow any safety instructions provided by Disney officials.
