MuppetVision 3D’s Absence from Extended Evening Hours Fuels Monsters, Inc. Land Speculation

Guests enjoying Extended Evening Hours at Disney’s Holloywood Studios in the coming days will note a change in the attraction lineup: MuppetVision 3D has been removed from the list of available attractions.

Extended Evening Hours affords guests of Walt Disney World Deluxe Resorts and Deluxe Villas (as well as other select hotels) additional park hours after the parks normal closing time. Upcoming Extended Evening Hours at Disney’s Hollywood Studios (which will resume on September 25, 2024) includes access to the following attractions:

• Alien Swirling Saucers
• Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway
• Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run
• Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith
• Slinky Dog Dash
• Star Tours – The Adventures Continue
• The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror™
• Toy Story Mania!

MuppetVision 3D was previously present on this list, but has recently been removed. There have been increasing rumors and conversations swirling around the future of the Muppet attraction since the announcement of a Monsters, Inc. expansion that will be coming to Hollywood Studios. Many eagle eyed fans picked up on the background theming of the land fitting in perfectly with the layout of the area that currently houses MuppetVision, while others have noted that concept art was seemingly completed back in 2020 and plans may have shifted.

Disney did not confirm when, or where, Monsters, Inc. land would be coming to Hollywood Studios, although they did confirm this is an ‘active project.’ Disney fans have been speaking out in an attempt to save the attraction, which was Jim Hensons final Muppet project, ahead of any formal announcement from Disney.
