Bob Newhart, Comedy Legend and Voice of Disney’s Bernard, Passes Away at 94
Iconic comedian and actor Bob Newhart, beloved for his deadpan delivery and roles in classic sitcoms, has passed away at the age of 94. Newhart’s career spanned over six decades, leaving an indelible mark on the world of comedy and entertainment.

Beyond his successful television career, Newhart lent his voice to beloved Disney characters, notably Bernard the Mouse in “The Rescuers” franchise. He also made appearances in “The Simpsons,” “Desperate Housewives,” and a memorable “Lost” parody on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”.
Newhart’s career began as a standup comedian, where his unique style and delivery earned him a comedy record deal with Warner Bros. Records. His debut album, “The Button-Down Mind of Bob Newhart,” topped the Billboard charts and won two Grammy Awards.
In television, Newhart became a household name with his self-titled sitcoms, including “The Bob Newhart Show” and “Newhart,” which garnered critical acclaim and numerous awards.
Newhart leaves behind a legacy of laughter and a remarkable body of work that will continue to entertain and inspire generations to come. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Virginia “Ginnie” Quinn, their four children, and ten grandchildren.
