“Inside Out 2,” Pixar’s 28th film, follows Riley as she navigates her teenage years with her lively emotions, now including Anxiety. Directed by Kelsey Mann and featuring a star-studded voice cast, the film has received rave reviews and an A grade from CinemaScore exit polls. It surpassed box office expectations, earning about $155 million in its opening weekend in the U.S. and Canada, which was about 70 percent higher than predictions, much to the relief of fans and critics alike.

The movie’s success is a significant win for Pixar, which faced challenges during the pandemic. After releasing “Onward” just before lockdowns, Pixar’s next three films went straight to Disney+. Last year’s “Elemental” had a slow start but eventually earned around $500 million globally. Now, “Inside Out 2” has reignited excitement for Pixar, leaving fans full of Joy and eagerly awaiting what’s next.
