Calling all curious minds! Give Kids The World Village just upped the magic factor with the grand opening of Mayor Clayton’s WonderLab. This one-of-a-kind, immersive STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Math) activity center is designed to spark imaginations and ignite a love for learning in all ages!
Mayor Clayton’s WonderLab isn’t just a space – it’s a whimsical wonderland designed to ignite imaginations of all ages. Every detail, from accessible features to playful architecture, sparks creativity and endless opportunities for learning, invention, and artistic expression.
Six unique zones await you and your family, each bursting with fascinating activities:
- Lab Access: Your futuristic gateway! Meet an animatronic Mayor Clayton (the Village’s bunny mascot!) and discover the incredible experiences and cutting-edge tools waiting to be explored.
- The Hub: Witness the heart of WonderLab – the Brilliance Bottler! This fantastical contraption is powered by the very things that make the WonderLab special: wonder, imagination, and endless possibilities.
- Tech 101: Unleash your inner tech whiz! Get hands-on with 3D printing, stop-motion animation, button and sticker making, and even weaving with 3D printed handlooms.
- Test & Try Lab: Collaboration and discovery reign supreme here! Learn to operate Spark-e animatronics, then test your engineering skills with paper airplane R&D, spherical robot obstacle courses, and much more.
- Puzzle Portal: Teamwork makes the dream work! This immersive space is designed for collaborative games and vertical puzzle building, like magnetic marble runs.
- Volts & Bolts Studio: Ever wondered how those amazing animatronics come to life? Here, families can learn the secrets firsthand, using tools and tiki bird kits to build their own creations.
Imaginative storytelling comes to life in the form of the “Wonderbots,” Wonder (Won), Imagination (Mage) and Possibility (Bil): three curious, quirky robot friends who created the WonderLab and keep children’s creativity flowing into the Brilliance Bottler in order to power the Lab. Not unlike their Wonderbot counterparts, the WonderLab is the brainchild of Give Kids The World Chief Innovative Officer Ian Cole; Give Kids The World Manager of Experiential Education Christie Miga; and Evan Miga, founder of MigaMe, the company responsible for the WonderLab’s original concept and design.
“The WonderLab is designed to spark new interests, excitement and hope for teens and tweens who visit Give Kids The World Village as part of our ongoing effort to create magical experiences and unforgettable memories for every member of the family,” says Cole.
In addition to MigaMe, Garner Holt Productions and Garner Holt Education Through Imagination, partners who are making the WonderLab possible include Visual Terrain; Bambu Labs; Alcorn McBride; QSYS; PolyMaker; American Filament; David Tobin of 3D Printing Nerd; Interactive Technologies; Adam Cole Music and Music By Jeffrey Gardner; Controllino; LEGOLAND; Gamesmen; Matthew Lish Puppets & Props; Adirondack Studios; GLLS; Environmental Lights; Acclaim; Altman Birket; EcoSense Soraa Lighting; Gantom; Klus; Orange Avenue; Bright Futures; Wildfire; and students from Osceola High School in Kissimmee, FL, who designed and prototyped all of the pipes in the Puzzle Portal.
