This refurbishment comes amidst ongoing discussions about cultural sensitivity in Disney attractions. Peter Pan’s Flight has been criticized for its portrayal of Native Americans, with some scenes considered outdated and stereotypical. Specifically, the “Indian Village” and its inhabitants have raised concerns about perpetuating harmful tropes.
Disney has been addressing such issues across its parks and properties. Recent updates to Jungle Cruise, Country Bear Jamboree, and Splash Mountain removed racially insensitive elements, promoting a more inclusive and culturally sensitive atmosphere.
