Mardi Gras Food and Entertainment Lineup for 2023 at Universal Orlando

lead-2

Mardi Gras is back at Universal Orlando. With some all-new entertainment and food options as well as returning fan favorites. If fun, festival, and food, are your thing you’re going to want to check it out!

Mardi Gras International Flavors of Carnaval

Let’s get started with my favorite part of carnaval, the food!

Taste the mouthwatering flavors of global Carnaval celebrations from New Orleans to Brazil to Belgium and beyond with an expansive menu featuring more than 50 tasting-sized items.

Pav Bhaji

7-1

This Indian street food is a vegetable stew with veggies like carrots, potatoes, and cauliflower, with spices like garlic and ginger. It comes with a toasted sweet roll perfect for dipping.

Dirty Cauliflower Rice

5-1

This vegan-friendly play on a New Orleans classic has meatless sausage, black-eyed peas, and cauliflower. Onions, green bell peppers, and cajun spices really bring you back to the bayou.

Mofongo Trio Flight

8-1

This Puerto Rican-inspired dish is a mix of green plantains, bacon, and chicharrones. Each bite has a different topping. This tasty trio consists of Shrimp Criolla, Traditional, and Chicken Chicharron with mayo ketchup topping.

Liège Waffle

4-1

This thick brioche battered waffle is dusted with pearl sugar and is topped off with strawberries and whipped cream. Is it a dessert or a meal? We will let you decide!

Indonesian Purple Sticky Rice Pudding

9-1

This Indonesian dish is actually a dessert and is made with purple long-grain rice. Coconut milk, sweetened condensed milk, shredded coconut, and mango make for a deliciously sweet tropical dish.

Baja Shrimp Ceviche Tostada

6-1

Citrus shrimp top off this Mexican-inspired dish along with avocado crema, cotija cheese, non-spicy jalapenos, red onion, and cilantro on a blue tortilla.

Rod Polse

3-2

This delicious dish hails from Denmark. This red-skinned hotdog is topped off with pickled cucumber, crunchy onions, curry remoulade, and then topped off with a few sprigs of fresh dill. It’s served on a toasted bun.

Brigadeiros

2-2

These might look like doughnuts but they are actually a trio of Brazilian Chocolate Fudge Bombs. This delectable dessert is made with sweetened condensed milk, cocoa powder, and butter. Each one is rolled in a different topping of Mardi Gras-colored sprinkles, chocolate sprinkles, or hazelnuts.

Vegan Churros

10-1

These vegan-friendly churros are dusted with lots of cinnamon sugar and come with two dipping sauces chocolate and coconut agave nectar.

It Doesn’t End There

Parades

Universal Orlando offers up all sorts of entertainment during the Mardi Gras Carnaval. Guests can catch beads by the handful during this year’s dazzling “Mythical Realms of Mardi Gras” parade – featuring six new floats inspired by fantastical creatures like dragons, phoenixes, unicorns, and more that will join Universal’s traditional lineup of New Orleans-inspired floats – such as the iconic, two-story Riverboat and nearly 50-foot-long King Gator.

After Hours Party

Guests can attend a Mardi Gras After Party at Pat O’Brien’s on select nights and enjoy special entertainment and theming at the Red Coconut Club – which will transform into the Cursed Coconut Club for the Mardi Gras season.

Live Concerts

Enjoy eight live performances by top names in music like Sean Paul, Maren Morris, and Goo Goo Dolls at the Music Plaza Stage on select nights. To see a complete list of acts check out Universal Orlando’s Mardi Gras website here.
