Tokyo Disney has updated its “Theme Park Usage Agreement” to ban merchandise resellers. Purchasing merchandise with the intent to resell is now listed under the resort’s “Prohibited Acts”.

The resort shared this update on Twitter:
“[TDR Official Website] We have established the “Theme Park Usage Agreement” that summarizes the rules and precautions for using the park. It will be applied from December 21, 2022 (Wednesday).”
Tokyo Disney Resort’s website lists many prohibited acts. The one we are focusing on is “Purchasing products or souvenirs for the purpose of resale”. Guests who do can be removed from the park or even permanently banned from the property.
This update goes into effect on Wednesday, December 21, 2022.
Merchandise reselling is a big problem at all Disney theme parks. Some parks limit how many of one item each guest can purchase but Tokyo Disney Resort seems to be the first to officially ban the practice.
