Former Disney Imagineer Shares Concept Art for ‘Disney Wharf’ in Sydney Australia
Former Walt Disney Imagineer Jim Shull shared this past weekend a look at the proposed Disney Wharf design that WAS going to be built in Sydney Australia back in the late 2000’s.
Disney’s Wharf project was imagined for Sydney Harbor, Australia. Located on a site designed to lift the area it was to be a mixed-use project. Not a theme park but more than a retail and entertainment project, Disney has tried this several times with mixed results.

In 2007, Disney Wharf at Sydney Harbour remained a secret under the codename ‘Project Lester’. ‘Project Lester’ was an entirely new venture for Disney. The project was trying to break Disney out of its traditional theme park bounds, but apply similar tactics of storytelling through architecture, unique experiences, and a lively atmosphere in a more communal setting.
