Disney’s Exciting NEW Encanto X Camp Experience
For the first time ever, La Familia Madrigal are opening their doors. We visited the world’s first immersive Disney Encanto x Camp experience and had the opportunity to experience this vibrant and interactive Casita, as part of Disney’s Encanto X Camp.
Our magical journey took us through various passageways and locations from the animated film in what was a joyous hour-long tour of the Madrigal house. This is the latest collaborative effort from Disney and CAMP to deliver magic to residents of New York City; bringing them Disney Magic when they cannot journey to the parks.

CAMP has locations in New York, Texas, Connecticut, New Jersey, Massachusetts, and California. CAMP promises “unique family experiences” suitable for the whole family; we had a chance to see that promise delivered in real-time at their downtown Manhattan location. Grab your Encanto Miracle Candle and come along as we explore CAMP’s latest and one-of-a-kind Encanto Casita.
We begin our experience by being handed a magical candle that will serve as the “key” to unlocking the magic of the Casita. Together with CAMP counselors, we unlocked the secrets behind the bookcase with a series of magic words “Abre la Puerta” (open the door). The bookcase swung open to reveal a secret passageway where we were greeted by friends of Mirabel.
Together we sang “Family Madrigal” as we danced our way to the front door of the Madrigal Casita. The Casita came to life; as the ceramic tiles of the roof cascade above our heads. The colors of the surrounding town and Mercado were vibrant. Instantly we were welcomed into the Casita and our journey as an honorary guest of the family Madrigal was underway.

As expected the Casita is filled with interactive experiences. Behind each magical door is unique theming and adventures sure to be enjoyed by the entire family. In the main corridor, you can experience a second-floor slide and explore secret passages that lead us to Bruno’s hideaway behind the walls. Unlike the film where Abuela runs the show, in this experience you are free to roam the Casita at your own pace, unlocking the magic of the Casita with members of your family.
Our journey through the Madrigal Casita took us first to Isabella’s Floral room. Every inch of the room was covered in gorgeous flora and to the left a projected wall; brought the room to life. Kids of all ages frolic about as CAMP counselors supervise and direct children with storytelling and song. Yes, we participated in a sing-a-long of “What Else Can I do”. It was hard to not be swept up by the hurricane of Jacarandas of Isabella’s room. This was probably our favorite room in the entire Casita, and from the crowds in this space, we could tell that the other kids certainly agreed with us.
Music plays an integral role in the Encanto x CAMP experience. From the very beginning of your hour-long interactions the songs of the animated film play prominent in every corner of the house. Live performances fill the space as CAMP counselors sing along to the Academy Award-winning score. Songs in both Spanish and English could be enjoyed by all visitors to the Casita.
Ultimately this is where the CAMP experience becomes more than just a passive “Tour” of the Casita. CAMP staff help direct and guide families through the Encanto x CAMP experience; via storytelling, interactive gaming, musical experiences, and more.
We then journeyed to Antonio’s rainforest, complete with slides and a jungle playset. A smiling Jaguar presided overhead as children enjoyed Antonio’s room. As we came out of Antonio’s we were again greeted by the rhythmic guitar.

We just had to talk about Bruno and pulled back on a painting in the main hall which revealed the secret passageway to Bruno’s room behind the walls. A balance beam and foam pit provided a fun obstacle to get to Bruno’s hideaway. Don’t worry mom and dad, there’s also a direct route to get there; no gymnastics required. Bruno’s room had more secret passages, his mice friends, slides, and interactive games where you had to catch mice. We were able to get 50 mice before moving on with our experience.
In Mirabel’s room, CAMP counselors were storytelling and reading books aloud to the children. The magical candle that was provided also interacted with the window pane here and set off a magical surprise outside of the Casita window. The magical candle serves as a key to the whole experience, helping unlock the magic within each room. Don’t worry, no spoilers here.
Disney’s Encanto x CAMP goes further than the animated film; offering a look into the never before seen room of Luisa; complete with Donkeys and an interactive skeeball game. Luisa’s room was our personal favorite, playing Skee Ball with the CAMP counselor was certainly one of the highlights for this massive kid.
After we secured the “secret password” from a CAMP counselor we were ready to venture into cousin Dolores’s room and take our souvenir photograph as an honorary member of the family Madrigal. Afterward, we spent some extra time walking outside of the Casita and looking at the various kiosks that offered personalized merchandise to commemorate our journey.
Tickets grant you access to a 1-hour immersive experience. CAMP has asked that ticket holders arrive 15 minutes before their time slot so that they can accommodate everyone’s reservations in a timely manner.
