Though Mark Hamill still provides a performance using VFX de-aging technology and voice for his iconic role as Luke Skywalker, Lucasfilm and Disney have opted to use a body double for Luke’s appearances in The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett. Actor Graham Hamilton provided the on-set talent needed to bring Luke’s likeness into Episode 6 of The Book of Boba Fett as Luke’s body double and shared a heartfelt thank you to the team at Lucasfilm on social media for his role.

Hamilton shared via Instagram, “Co-creating Luke Skywalker for [The Book of Boba Fett] with master [Hamill] was one of the most magical and fulfilling creative experiences of my life. Deep gratitude to [Filoni] and [Favreau] for bringing me into the family and to all the geniuses [at Star Wars] + [Lucasfilm] who remind us of the power of myth, and the deep responsibility of artists who bring these archetypes to life. It’s hard to express what this all meant for me, how unimaginably moving it was and still is.”

We are also happy to report that the talented “deepfake” YouTuber Shamook, who was hired by Lucasfilm after his “fixed” video of Luke in The Mandalorian went viral, worked on the VFX to bring young Luke to life over Graham’s physical performance.
