Dr. Fauci, the top infectious-disease expert in the US, recently said the US should consider a vaccination requirement for domestic flights. This suggestion comes amid a surge in Covid cases causing disruptions for airlines.

Fauci said while there are pros and cons to such a mandate, it would be “reasonable to consider”. “That’s another incentive to get more people vaccinated,” he told MSNBC. “If you want to do that with domestic flights, I think that’s something that seriously should be considered.”
In September Fauci said he would support a vaccine mandate for US flights. Some congress members have tried to introduce legislation that would add a vaccine requirement to U.S. airways and trains to no avail.
According to FlightAware, more than a thousand flights were canceled as of midday Monday. Airlines are blaming staff shortages due to employees testing positive for Covid.

The CDC previously recommended Covid positive individuals quarantine for 10 days after a positive test. Those guidelines were recently changed to 5 days if you are asymptomatic followed by 5 days of mask wearing when you go back to work.
