Could we soon see the return of Fantasmic! at Disney’s Hollywood Studios?
One of Walt Disney World’s beloved nighttime spectaculars, the show features Mickey Mouse himself, battling Disney Villains. It’s a fantastic display of Disney’s pyrotechnic capabilities and love of special effects. Unfortunately, it’s been a long time since anyone has enjoyed this particular experience. It’s been unavailable since Walt Disney World’s closure last year and no official word has been given as to when it will rejoin the lineup. But now we are seeing some new activity in the Fantasmic amphitheater, which gives us hope Disney is preparing the return of the nighttime spectacular.

The new activity could be an indication that Disney is looking to bring back more live entertainment. It should also be noted that this could just be part of the ongoing effort to revitalize Walt Disney World in time for the 50th Anniversary Celebration. Many rides and experiences have been refurbished lately to make sure everything is new and fresh when festivities kick off in October. At this time we can see the amphitheater’s lagoon is still drained, so it’s unlikely to be utilized in the next few weeks.
