Beginning 11:59 p.m. Saturday, July 17, masks will be required indoors once again even if you’ve been fully vaccinated.
In recent weeks LA county has seen a rise in COVID transmission. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says LA County’s current case rate puts the area in the “substantial transmission” category which is the second-highest category.

LA County Health Officer Muntu Davis said reimplementing the mask mandate is a more effective strategy to combat the rising cases and the least limiting for business operations. He also said this health order is not necessarily to protect people who are fully vaccinated, but because there’s too much room for error when allowing some people to go maskless. “There may be some people who are unvaccinated and don’t want to make that known that they’re unvaccinated,” Davis added, “and that just puts others at risk.”
Universal Studios Hollywood is located in LA County. Universal already encourages all guests to wear masks while indoors but now it will be a health order.
