We previously reported that a rumor was going around about Disney relocating jobs from California to Florida. Disney has now confirmed that 2000 jobs will be moved from California to Florida.

Throughout the next 18 months, The Walt Disney Co. will move roughly 2000 jobs from its California headquarters to a new community in Southeast Orlando. Lake Nona will house a Disney campus that will be home to Disney Imagineers and other professionals. No specific location has been chosen for the Lake Nona project yet.

Most of the jobs being relocated to Florida are related to Disney’s Parks, Experiences and Products division – which includes theme parks – but are not fully dedicated to Disneyland. The relocating jobs represent less than 5% of the Disney jobs in California.
