Port Orleans Riverside Refurbishments and the Trundle Beds.

Port Orleans Riverside Refurbishments and the Trundle Beds.

For months now, we’ve been hearing that when all the Port Orleans Riverside refurbishments are complete, they won’t have trundle beds.  This was a huge disappointment for families of five because it meant that the moderates would only hold five people, further diminishing resort options for larger families.

Some suspected the reasoning was to fill up the new Art of Animation suites that will open in mid-2012.  Well, I’m happy to report that these rumors are false. I just got confirmation that cast members are being told that the newly refurbished rooms will still hold five. Those rooms won’t be done until as late as June 2012, but they will happen.

Most of the refurbishments, which include new textiles, the addition of queen-size beds, and flat screen TVs, should be completed by January.

  1. You have NO idea how happy it makes me to know that they are adding some queen beds! All this time, we’ve limited our stays on property because my husband is 6’5…and a double bed just AIN’T gonna do it! We can’t always afford the deluxe resorts, and we have two kids, so something’s GOTTA give! The new queen x2 garden rooms will DEF be a draw for us…not to mention we’ve always wanted to stay at Port Orleans Riverside anyway! BIG P&TF fans 🙂

  2. I just hope they’ll pay a little more attention to pest control with these refurbishments. I’m not too fond of bringing home cockroaches.
