California Governor Newsom recently announced that the state would reopen fully on June 15, 2021. This weekend the state released more information regarding what that means.

All capacity limits and physical distancing requirements are being removed in all settings. That means all businesses will be able to open at full capacity if they choose.
The state will recommend proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test in some instances:
- At outdoor live events with more than 10,000 people, California will recommend venues have verification of vaccination/negative test in place. Those who aren’t vaccinated or who don’t show a negative test result can still enter if they wear a mask. This is a recommendation from the state, not a requirement.
- Indoor venues with 5,000 or more people should implement a similar verification. However, at these indoor events, non-vaccinated people who don’t show a negative COVID-19 test result shouldn’t enter, the state says. This is a requirement, not a recommendation.

Starting June 15, California will be aligning with the CDC’s mask guidelines. That means fully vaccinated individuals won’t need to wear masks except when at hospitals, prisons, homeless shelters and during travel. Unvaccinated individuals will still be required to wear masks, however, the state will not have require proof of vaccine.
All state restrictions on travel outside of California will also be lifted.
Disneyland recently announced it will be ending temperature screenings starting June 15 but no other changes have been made. Orange County has also recently moved into a less restrictive tier of the state’s “Blueprint for a Safer Economy” which would allow Disneyland to increase its capacity. Though, Disneyland has not made any official announcement.
