The theme parks at the Disneyland Resort are planning to reopen on April 30, 2021. When the parks reopen, there will be some changes. One change will affect the lines for rides. There will no longer be Single Rider lines for rides.

Select rides at Disneyland and Disney California Adventure offered Single Rider lines for guests who were riding by themselves. These lines helped guests get on rides quicker. Now, due to social distancing guidelines, these single rider lines will most likely be temporarily removed.

According to initial COVID-19 health and safety guidelines issued by California, Single Rider lines are “typically designed to help fill in every open seat, which is likely inconsistent with physical distancing.” The guidelines also state that riders from different households should be seated at least 6 feet apart and that seating patterns on rides should be adjusted to maintain social distancing.
Walt Disney World suspended its Single Rider lines when its parks reopened last summer. Disneyland has not made an official announcement yet regarding Single Rider lines.
