List of Disney Store closings in the United States & Canada

Recently we shared the news of how Disney was going to be shifting from brick and mortar stores to more online sales, which meant many Disney Stores in the US & Canada would be closing starting on March 23rd, 2021.

You can read more about that here.

“While consumer behavior has shifted toward online shopping, the global pandemic has changed what consumers expect from a retailer,” said Stephanie Young, president, Consumer Products Games and Publishing.

“Over the past few years, we’ve been focused on meeting consumers where they are already spending their time, such as the expansion of Disney store shop-in-shops around the world. We now plan to create a more flexible, interconnected e-commerce experience that gives consumers easy access to unique, high-quality products across all our franchises.”

Disney will remain flexible in its approach and continue to evolve its retail strategy to best meet the needs of consumers when and where they want. Guests will continue to have access to Disney shopping experiences in 600+ Disney Parks stores, shop-in-shops, lifestyle and outlet locations, as well as third-party retailers around the world.

Please remember you can still find your favorite Disney Items on Shop Disney, however, we will miss having a piece of the Disney Magic close to home.

  1. Disney misses the point that the little children start their love of Disney at their local Disney stores. For some children who will never get to a Disney Park TDS is the Disney park for them. Little kids don’t shop online. Disney is being short sighted, as a former TDS CM, the young ones & old folks luv, luv, luv DISNEY STORES. PENNY wise, POUND foolish!
Shame Disney! WHAT WOULD WALT SAY!
