We have the wildest ribs recipe in the wilderness! Big Thunder Ribs from Disneyland!
You can usually find this mouth-watering dish at Big Thunder Ranch Barbecue but now you can recreate these sweet and spicy ribs at home! They are super easy to make and a great option to have for lunch or dinner.
BIG THUNDER RIBS
INGREDIENTS:
Citrus Roundup BBQ Rub
- 2 1/2 tbsp of lemon pepper
- 1 tbsp of sugar
- 2 tbsp of paprika
- 1 tbsp of brown sugar
- 1 tbsp of ground cumin
- 1/4 tbsp of cayenne pepper
- 1 tbsp of chili powder
- 2 tbsp of seasoning salt
- 1 tbsp of garlic powder
- 1 tbsp of onion powder
Ribs
- 1 1/2 cups of Citrus Roundup
- BBQ rub (recipe above)
- 1 (4 pound) of rack pork spareribs, trimmed of excess fat
- 1/2 cup of water
- 1 cup of your favorite barbecue sauce
INSTRUCTIONS:
Citrus Roundup BBQ Rub
- Combine all ingredients in a medium bowl. Stir to combine.
Ribs
- Sprinkle Citrus BBQ Rub on both sides of ribs, rubbing the meat to adhere. Then cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 8 hours or overnight.
- Preheat oven to 350F.
- Place ribs in a roasting pan or on a baking sheet and pour water into pan. Cover with foil and roast for one hour.
- Remove the pan from the oven and uncover. Pour off any excess water.
- Evenly coat top of ribs with barbecue sauce. Return pan to oven and roast for 30 more minutes.
- Remove the pan from the oven and cover lightly with foil. Let ribs for 10 minutes.
- Slice the ribs between each bone with a serrated knife and serve immediately.
