Travelers flying into the U.S. will now need to show proof of a negative COVID-19 test or proof of recovery from COVID-19. This new order from the Centers for Disease Control Prevention (CDC) goes into effect on January 26, 2021.

These guidelines apply to everyone entering the United States, including U.S. citizens returning home from international travel. All travelers, age 2 and older, will need to show proof of either a negative test or recovery from COVID-19.

Travelers will need to get a viral test (NAAT or antigen test) no more than three days before their flight departs. The results will need to be shown to the airline before boarding. They can be either paper documentation or electronic. Even if you receive the COVID-19 vaccine, you will still need to show proof of a negative test.

If you have had COVID-19 but have since recovered, you may still be able to travel. You must meet certain criteria as well as provide the positive test results and a letter from your health care provider stating you are cleared for travel. The CDC does not recommend getting tested in the three months after getting a positive COVID-19 test.

There are still some travelers that are prohibited from flying to the U.S. Foreign nationals who have been in China, Iran, the United Kingdom, Brazil, the Republic of Ireland, or the European Schengen area in the last 14 days cannot enter the U.S.

So, if you are an international traveler and you want to visit Walt Disney World, you will need a little more documentation before coming to the U.S. Check out the CDC website for more information.
