Christian Bale Casting Confirmed for Marvel Studios’ ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’. During The Walt Disney Company Investor Day 2020 we learned about dozens of confirmed and new titles coming to Disney, Pixar, Lucasfilm, Marvel Studios, Disney+, National Geographic and more. One such confirmations was the official news of Christian Bale’s casting in Marvel Studios’ ‘Thor: Love and Thunder‘.

The new synopsis for the film shared during the TWDC Investor Day 2020 states: “Thor: Love and Thunder, opening on May 6, 2022, begins filming next month with director Taika Waititi at the helm. Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman and Tessa Thompson return to their roles, joined by Christian Bale, who portrays villain Gorr the God Butcher.”

During a red carpet interview with ET earlier this year, Thor: Ragnarok star, Tessa Thompson opened up about the next Thor film and accidentally shared the news that Christian Bale had been cast as the films villain. Though she quickly remained tightlipped after the slip, the damage was done and Marvel Fans had been speculating exactly who Bale would be playing in the new film.

Thor: Love and Thunder is now set to premiere on May 6, 2022 and will star Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Natalie Portman (Jane Foster/The Mighty Thor), Tessa Thompson (Valkyrie), and Christian Bale (Gorr the God Butcher). Be sure to check back here at Chip and Co. for updates and all things Marvel!
