Get ready to get transported into the kingdom of Arendelle with this virtual viewing of “Frozen, A Musical Spectacular”!!
Disney Cruise Line wants to invite you and your family to enjoy a virtual presentation of the Broadway style show previously recorded from the Walt Disney Theater. You can watch it on the video below:
But before you start the show, you will need some snacks right? What about some Frozen Popcorn Snowballs? We have the recipe!
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 package of microwave popcorn
- 2 TBS butter
- 1 package of mini marshmallows
- Blue or white sprinkles
- Parchment paper
- Cookie sheet
- Large mixing bowl
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Pop the popcorn in the microwave according to the package directions. Once it is cooled, place it in a large mixing bowl.
- On the stovetop, melt butter over medium heat. Once it is melted, stir in 3/4 of the mini marshmallows. Save some for later. Stir until all marshmallows are melted.
- Pour the marshmallow mixture over the popcorn and stir until it is well integrated. Be careful, the mixture will be hot at first.
- Once the popcorn and marshmallows are mostly cool, mix in the rest of the mini marshmallows and the sprinkles.
- Once the mixture is fully cooled, take a handful and form it into a snowball, just as you would when making a real snowball. You can add more candy and sprinkles to the fully formed snowballs to make them look extra magical!
- Place the finished snowballs on parchment paper to keep them from sticking. Enjoy!
Feeling inspired after watching Frozen, A Musical Spectacular? What about creating your very own show!
You can do it with a Shadow Puppet Theater and surprise your family.
SUPPLIES:
- A light-colored sheet (or a roll of drawing paper)
- Clothespins or binder clips
- Flashlights
- Fresh Duracell batteries
- Printable character templates
- Black cardstock
- Pencil
- Tape
- Wooden dowels
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Step 1: Download and print out the character templates. If you don’t have a printer available, you can trace characters from a book to make your own templates.
- Step 2: Carefully cut out the templates and use a pencil to trace them onto black cardstock.
- Step 3: Carefully cut out the characters from black cardstock.
- Step 4: Use tape to attach a wooden dowel to the back of each character.
- Step 5: Hang up your sheet or drawing paper by using clothespins or binder clips with two chairs. Keep chairs secure in place with heavy books or helpful parents.
- Step 6: Set the scene by taping trees and snowflakes to the backdrop.
- Step 7: Encourage little ones to use their imagination and tell their own story together.
- Step 8: Kids can take turns using the flashlight and playing the characters. Make sure to have fresh Duracell batteries on hand to power your flashlights.
- Step 9: Show kids how holding the flashlight close to the sheet makes a small amount of light, and holding it too far away doesn’t make enough. Experiment to find the perfect distance (about 2-3 feet) for the “lighting expert” to sit.
- Step 10: Enjoy the show!
We hope you enjoyed this virtual presentation and had fun making sweet treats and putting on your show!
