Fort Wilderness will be under a phase 2 closure on Halloween

Fort Wilderness

Halloween is fast approaching and many are enjoying their visit to Walt Disney World. However, the spooky celebrations will be different at one Disney Resort this year. Fort Wilderness will be under a Phase 2 closure on October 31st. This is a temporary measure to help maintain physical distancing among guests on Halloween.

The Phase 2 closure affects both traditional campsites and The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort. Essentially it means only those with hotel reservations or dining reservations are allowed during that time. They’re implementing this extra measure to discourage people without reservations from gathering there.

Guests with confirmed resort reservations are receiving the following information to make them aware. They can still enjoy Halloween at Disney, but the experience is going to be different this year.

Halloween at Fort Wilderness

The spookiest season is still on the way to Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground and it’s bound to be frightfully fun. We look forward to hosting a variety of activities that will bedazzle and bewitch you.

This year on Halloween, guests at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground can participate in the golf cart and campsite decorating contests as well as our pet costume contest and pumpkin carving contest, with a few modifications. We are also excited to offer a new spellbinding pumpkin scavenger hunt for ghouls and goblins of all ages as well as the chance to decorate your own mini pumpkin! For those planning to wear a costume, make sure to read our official costume guidelines before brewing up your Halloween best, and remember that a costume mask is never a substitute for a required face covering.

The Disney Resort is following the guidance of health authorities, such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). To help protect the safety of guests, trick-or-treating at the campground is not permitted this year. Disney is advising that activities and gatherings should be limited to those in your travel party. Please also continue to practice physical distancing.
