Cruise lines have been closed since the spring due to the pandemic. It looks like one cruise line will resume operations in December. Carnival Cruise Lines is hoping to start sailing on December 1, 2020.
In order for that to happen, Carnival Corporation will need to provide appropriate environmental certifications 30 days before sailing. The CDC’s No Sail Order would also need to be expired. Right now, that order is set to expire on October 31, 2020.
Carnival said in a statement, “Our highest responsibility and top priorities are compliance, environmental protection and the health, safety and well-being of our guests, crew, shoreside employees, and the people and communities our ships visit. We will fully comply with the order, along with all other regulatory and legal requirements.”
Disney Cruise Line has canceled all sailings through mid-December. There’s been no word on when Disney Cruise Line might resume sailing. Right now, Carnival is one of the first cruise lines to announce its return to sailing in the United States.
