It appears a thunderstorm may have brought a disturbance in the Force to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Last night, a lightning strike touched down at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The lightning hit one of the mountain peaks by Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance in Galaxy’s Edge.
A few visitors witnessed the storm at Disney’s Hollywood Studios last night. You can see the frightful lightning strike hitting Galaxy’s Edge in the video below.

Also, the My Disney Experience app shows how the attraction has been unavailable for most of today.
Another attraction seems to be down because of the lightning strike as well.
The Muppet*Vision 3D attraction has also been unavailable today. Disney has not released any official statement yet about the Muppets or Star Wars attractions. Many are wondering if the lightning strike ruined the generators for these attractions.
We’re waiting for a confirmation on what caused both attractions to be unavailable to guests at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Many guests believe the lightning caused damage requiring repairs. It’s surprising to see both Hollywood Studios attractions being down for so long.
In the meantime, many are still waiting for Rise of the Resistance to open up again. Hopefully it’s running again soon!
