‘Daredevil‘ Star Shuts Down Rumor That He Will Appear in Next ‘Spider-Man‘ Film. Charlie Cox played Matt Murdock in the Netflix Daredevil and The Defenders series before production was shut down after Disney and Marvel Entertainment’s split from Netflix in 2019.
Recently, rumors have been swirling that Daredevil was set to appear in the third Spider-Man film starring Tom Holland, but the star of the series, Charlie Cox, was quick to shut rumors down and shared that if Daredevil is appearing in the film, he is not the actor that will be playing Matt Murdock/Daredevil.
“I hadn’t heard those rumors, but it’s certainly not with my Daredevil. I’m not involved in it. If that’s true, it’s not with me. It’s with another actor,” Cox shared while speaking with ComicBook.com. Charlie had a great attitude about the whole situation though, and shared that he would still be interested in reprising his role if given the opportunity, regardless of when or how Marvel would want to present the character again.
“Look, I had a great time. I’m so grateful I got to play that character as long as I did. Of course, I’d love to keep going. I’d love to be involved with it,” the actor stated.
Currently, the only known cast members for the film are Tom Holland (Peter Parker/Spider-Man) and Zendaya (MJ). The untitled ‘Spider-Man 3‘ film was originally set to premiere in Summer 2021, but with delays in production due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it is likely the film will be pushed back to a later date.
